Tayebwa Vows to Turn Kasese District Fully NRM by January
Tayebwa, who formerly subscribed to the opposition Forum for Democratic Change, made the remarks after meeting political leaders and senior citizens from Kasese District at his office in Parliament on Thursday afternoon.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has expressed confidence that Kasese District will soon become a stronghold of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), citing indicators pointing to a decisive party victory in the January elections.

Tayebwa, who formerly subscribed to the opposition Forum for Democratic Change, made the remarks after meeting political leaders and senior citizens from Kasese District at his office in Parliament on Thursday afternoon.

He said the discussions centred on practical strategies to mobilize support for the NRM across all levels of local leadership.

Unity and reconciliation among party members were highlighted as key to achieving their goal.

“We underscored the importance of reconciliation and unity among NRM members as a foundation for turning the district completely yellow,” Tayebwa said.

“And we mean it from the LCIs all the way to our presidential candidate, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.”

He added that the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots structures and ensure that the NRM remains the preferred choice of the people of Kasese.

With renewed teamwork and focus among district leaders, Tayebwa expressed confidence that Kasese will be “fully yellow come January.”
